Allen Ezail Iverson (/'aIv@rs@n/; born June 7, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player.Nicknamed "the Answer" He played for 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a point guard and shooting guard positions. Iverson was named the 1997 NBA Rookie of the Year Award winner. He was also an 11-time NBA All-Star, the MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and the Most Valuable Player (MVP), in 2001. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016, he was recognized in the year of his induction. He was inducted into the Naismith memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Iverson is often considered to be one of the top scorers in NBA time and is a powerful player. He was awarded the Associated Press High School Player of the Year award for both basketball and football and won the Division 5 AAA Virginia state championship in both sports.
