Amy Adams

 American actor Amy Lou Adams was born August 20, 1974. She is known for her dramatic and comedic roles her name has been featured three times on annual lists of the highest-paid actresses. She has received various accolades which include two Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for six Academy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards.Adams began her professional career as a dancer in dinner theater, which she continued to pursue from 1994 to 1998. She then made her film debut by playing a supporting role in the dark comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). Also, she made guest appearances on television and performed "mean girls" in feature films with low budgets. Her first role of note was in Steven Spielberg's biopic Catch Me If You Can (2002) however, she was unemployed for one year following the film. She broke through in 2005 when she portrayed an intelligent, pregnant woman in Junebug (2005). The unorthodox comedy-drama earned her the first Academy Award nomination.
