Angie

"Angie" is a song from the English rock group The Rolling Stones, featured on their 1973 album Goats Head Soup. It also was the lead single on the album, which was released on the 20th of August, 1973. As with most Rolling Stones songs, the song is believed to be written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. But, it's generally accepted that Richards wrote the majority of the lyrics while Jagger contributing a few. "Angie" is a guitar-driven, acoustic ballad, which depicts the ending of an affair, was recorded in November 1972 and in December 1972. Richards composed the song's piano accompaniment. Nicky Hopkins was a regular on Rolling Stones recordings. Nicky Harrison arranged the strings for the piece and also "Winter" as part of his arrangement. An unusual feature of the original recording is that the singer Mick Jagger's vocal track (made prior to the moment when the vocals are performed) can be heard in a faint manner throughout the track (an effect that is sometimes referred to as a "ghost vocal").
