Bernie Taupin

 Bernard John Taupin CBE (born 22 May 1950) is an English musician, songwriter and artist. His long-term collaboration and songwriting partnership with Elton John is his most notable accomplishment. Taupin has composed the lyrics to a lot John's songs.In 1967, Taupin answered an advertisement in the music magazine New Musical Express placed by Liberty Records, a company that was seeking new songwriters. John replied to the same advertisement and they met, collaborating on many albums in the time since. John and Taupin were both inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame 1992. John was the son of Robert Taupin, and Daphne, daughters of John Leonard Palchett Poppy Cort, who was a University of Cambridge classics instructor, and the former Rector of Sale, Greater Manchester (then also known as Cheshire).
