Busta Rhymes

Trevor George Smith Jr. (born May 20, 1972), known professionally as Busta Rhymes, is an American rapper and actor. Chuck D of Public Enemy has given him the name Busta Rhymes in honor of NFL and CFL wide receiver George "Buster" Rhymes. His work has garnered him 12 Grammy Award nominations, making him one of the most nominated artists in the world and yet to win. Busta Rhymes was a founding member of Leaders of the New School. This group attracted national attention during their tour for Public Enemy. The group gained attention for its appearance as a guest on A Tribe Called Quest's track "Scenario". The group split up shortly thereafter, and Rhymes was an sought-after solo artist. He was featured on numerous songs by other artists prior to his solo album, The Coming (1996). The album ranked in the top ten of the Billboard 200 album chart, was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and earned the artist an Grammy nomination.
