 Christina Marma Aguilera, (/zgI’le@r@/; Spanish pronunciation: [agi’lera]), is an American actor, singer, and television personality. She was born December 18th, 1980. She is known for her vocal range and ability to sustain high notes , she is often referred to as the "Voice of the Generation".Aguilera rose to stardom by releasing her debut album titled "Eponymous and is acknowledged as having influenced the revival of teen-pop in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her work, which includes homosexuality, feminism and domestic violence, has earned both praise and controversy. She is often mentioned by other artists as having an influence. After appearing on television shows, Aguilera signed with RCA Records in 1998. Her debut album, "Genie in a Bottle", and "What a Girl Wants" were Billboard Hot 100 numbers-one hits. She also won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. She was a pop bubblegum artist.
