Christina Maria Aguilera, (/aegI’le@r@/; Spanish pronunciation: [agi’lera]), is an American singer-songwriter, actress, and TV personality. Her birth date was December 18, 1980. Famous for her vocal range and ability to hold high notes for long periods of time, she has been referred to as the "Voice of Generation X". [3][4] Aguilera gained fame through her debut album eponymous, for which she is credited with influencing the revival of pop music for teens in the late 1990s as well as the early 2000s. After appearing on TV, Aguilera signed to RCA Records in 1998. The debut album of Aguilera was a huge success, featuring three Billboard Hot 100 number one singles ("Genie in A Bottle"), "What a Girl Wants" as well as "Come On Over Baby" (All I want is you). She also received the Grammy Award as Best New Artist.
