Christina Renee Hendricks (born May 3 1975) is an American model and actress. She has had a long career on stage and screen and has won numerous awards, like six Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Critics also gave her two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in Drama Series. Her most well-known role is for her role as Joan Harris in the critically acclaimed AMC drama Mad Men. Esquire magazine named her the "sexiest woman" in 2010 after a survey of female readers. Hendricks was also voted the "Best Looking Woman in America." She was born to an American mother in Knoxville, Tennessee and an English father from Twin Falls, Idaho. After completing the high school level in Virginia, she moved to New York City and pursued an acting career as a model following her entry in an Seventeen cover contest. After working as a model throughout the world for more than a decade, she moved into acting.
