Courteney Bass (previously Courteney Cx Arquette; was born June 15th, 1964)[5][6] Is an American actor and filmmaker. Her role as a lead actress in the sitcom Friends (1994-2004) has earned her international recognition. She was nominated for seven Screen Actors Guild Awards, and one of which she won. Gale Weathers, the horror film franchise Scream (1996-1999) was awarded another prize for her performance. She also appeared as Lauren Miller in the NBC sitcom Family Ties (1987-1989), Lucy Spiller in the FX drama series Dirt (2007-2008), and as Jules Cobb in the ABC/TBS sitcom Cougar Town (2009-2015), the latter of which garnered her nominations for the Golden Globe Awards and the Critics' Choice Awards.Cox's other films include the action-fantasy Masters of the Universe (1987) and the comedic Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) and the animated comedy Barnyard (2006), the fantasy comedy Bedtime Stories (2008), and the drama that is independent Mothers and Daughters (2016). Cox, her husband David Arquette, founded the production company Coquette Productions.
