George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. was born on May 18th, 1952. He is an American musician, singer and actor. Strait is often called the "King of Country", and is well-known as a singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer from the United America. His first single, "Unwound", was released in 1981. This marked the rise to mainstream popularity of the neotraditional genre. In the 1980s, seven albums by Strait topped the charts for country music. In the year 2000, Strait was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music, elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and won his first Grammy award for the album Troubadour. Strait was awarded CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989 1993, 1990, and 2013 as well as ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and 2014. He has been nominated for more CMA and ACM Awards and has earned more wins in each category than any other artist.
