American musician James Alan Hetfield was born on the 3rd of August of 1963. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, co-founder, and the main songwriter of heavy metal group Metallica. His intricate rhythm playing is his speciality. But, he also performs solo and plays guitar live , or in the studio. After responding to an advertisement in The Recycler in Los Angeles, Lars Ulrich asked Hetfield to be a co-founder of Metallica. Metallica has been awarded nine Grammy Awards and released ten studio albums and three live albums. They also released four extended plays, and 24 singles.In 2009, Hetfield was ranked at the number. Joel McIver's book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists ranks Hetfield at No. 8. 24 by Hit Parader on their list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time.
