 Keanu Charles Reeves, /ki'a'nu/ keeAH-noo [4][5][6] was born on September 2nd, 1964 in Toronto. He is a Canadian[b] actor. Born in Beirut and raised in Toronto, Reeves began acting in theatre productions and in TV films prior to making his feature film debut in Youngblood (1986). He made his debut in the science fiction comedy Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), and reprised his character in its sequels. Reeves was praised for his role as a hustler on the independent drama My Own Private Idaho (1991). He also established himself as an action hero featuring prominently in Speed (1994) and Point Break (1991). Reeves's performance in the film of horror The Devil's Advocate (1997) was well-received. More fame came from his role as Neo in the science-fiction show The Matrix, beginning in 1999. He played John Constantine in Constantine (2005) and starred in the romantic drama The Lake House (2006) and the science fiction thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008),
