Maggie Gyllenhaal

 Margalit Ruth Gyllenhaal (/'dZIl@nho:lborn on November 16 1977) popularly referred to as Maggie Gyllenhaal, is an American film and actress. Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs, and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.She started her career as a teenager , playing minor roles in a few films by her father, and appeared alongside her brother in the film that became a cult hit Donnie Darko (2001). She later appeared in Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise for her performance in the romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002, 2006) as well as the action drama Sherrybaby (2006). Both of these films earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, such as World Trade Center, she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008).
