Mamie Van Doren

 Mamie Van Doren, born Joan Lucille Olander on February 6 1931, is an American actor, singer, and sex icon. One of her most well-known works is the rock 'n roll, juvenile delinquency, exploitation film Untamed Youth (1957), that she was born in Rowena (South Dakota) to Warner Carl Olander, and Lucille Harriet Bennet. She is of three-quarters Swedish ancestry; the remainder is a mixture of English as well as German. Van Doren began working at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood as an usher in the 1946s. In the next year, she was part in the first television show. She performed with Ted Fio Rito's band and participated in several beauty contests. She was married Jack Newman at 17 and moved to Santa Barbara, California. But Jack's abusive behavior led to the couple's divorce quickly. At 18 years old she was given the Miss Eight Ball and Miss Palm Springs titles in 1949. .
