Mariah Carey (/m@'raI@/ born on March 27, 1969) is an American singer and songwriter, actress and record producer. She is known as "Songbird Supreme" or "Queen of Christmas", and is well-known for her five-octave vocal range and her signature whistle usage. Carey rose to fame in 1990 when she released her debut album titled "Emotions. Carey was the first artist to have her first five songs make it to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".Carey's debut album debuted under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, whom she married three years later. Carey was a hit through her albums Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (944) and Daydream (1995). Singles included "Hero"," "Without You" The album also featured" "All I Want For Christmas Is You", and "Fantasy", which reached the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 decennial chart (1990s).
