Matt Brown

Matthew Burton Brown, born 10 January 1981, is an American mixed martial artist who fights in the Welterweight division at the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Brown is a professional fighter since 2004, was a contestant in the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter television series. Brown is the holder of the record for highest number of UFC Welterweight knockouts. Brown was born in Jamestown. After being home-schooled for two years, he attended Greeneview High School, where the school was not a place he felt at home. Brown was raised in a small town with little to no prospects of his career. He was a machinist in a low-paying factory. Brown was addicted to methamphetamine, used cocaine regularly, and often got into fights at gatherings. By his early twenties the man had survived an overdose of heroin (which earned him the name "The Immortal"), had been homeless and had been in prison.
