Michelle Suzanne Dockery (better source required) was born on 15 December 1981. She is an English actress in film and on television. Her most famous role is her leading performance in the role of Lady Mary Crawley in the ITV television period drama series Downton Abbey (2010-2015) and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.Dockery began her stage debut in His Dark Materials in 2004. As the character Eliza Doolittle in the 2007 London revival of Pygmalion, she was nominated for the Evening Standard Award. The actress was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the production Burnt by the Sun. Dockery was in two films: Hanna (2011) as well as Anna Karenina (2012). She also appeared in Non-Stop (2014) and The Gentlemen (2019).
