O.J.Simpson

The People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson is a criminal case that is pending in Los Angeles County Superior Court. O. J. Simpson was a former player, broadcaster and actor of the National Football League (NFL) was acquitted and tried of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. The two were stabbed death in the front of Brown's home located in the Brentwood neighborhood in Los Angeles on the night of June 12 in 1994. Since November 9, 1994, the day that the jury was sworn in the trial lasted for 11 months. The opening statements were made on January 24, 1995 and Simpson was found not guilty of both counts of murder on October 3 of the same year, despite the overwhelming forensic evidence against him.The trial came shortly after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and it is believed that it was argued that the defense capitalised on the anger in the city's African American community at police to convince the majority-Black jury to acquit Simpson. The trial is usually referred to as the trial of the century because of the international media attention it received and is called the "most publicized" criminal trial in human history.
