Peyton Williams Manning (born March 24, 1976) is an American former football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons. He was known as "the Sheriff",he spent 14 seasons playing for the Indianapolis Colts and four with the Denver Broncos.Manning is thought to be one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He is the second child of the former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, and the older brother of the former NFL quarterback Eli Manning. He played college football at Tennessee and was awarded the Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards when he was an senior, leading to success in the SEC Championship.Manning was selected first overall in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Colts who were their starting quarterback from 1998 to 2010. The struggling Colts team was transformed by Manning, who led them to eleven playoff runs as well as eight division championships. He also served as their starting quarterback from 1998 to 2010.
