Vanna White, born Vanna Marie Rosich on February 18, 1957 in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Joan Marie Nicholas and Miguel Angel Rosich. She was born to Joan and Herbert White Jr. in North Myrtle Beach. Her parents divorced shortly after she was born. White adopted the name of her stepfather, who was a former real estate broker. (On April 1, 2022 White declared the world with a flood of support that he had passed away peacefully that morning).After finishing high school, White moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she went to The Atlanta School of Fashion and Design[citation requiredand became a model. She moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to pursue an acting career. She went to Los Angeles for the summer of 1981 returning to South Carolina with her mother, who was dying of the ovarian cancer.Before her debut on TV in 1980, White was a contestant in the Miss Georgia USA 1978 pageant.
