How many do you think are fans of The Shawshank Redemption here? Almost everyone would be. The film, which starred Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, wasn't made just to entertain but provided a number of lessons for life in each scene. Directed by Frank Darabont and based off Stephen King's Rita Hayworth, and Shawshank Redemption, this film was a successful success. Unfortunately, the gem of world cinema didn't perform well on the commercial front and there are a myriad of explanations for why. One of the most important is the specific treatment, and the title in itself, was a bit confusing in the past. But, now it is one of the all-time greatest. In today's piece, we'll be taking the time to look into one of the most interesting details about this legendary classic. One character from the film who is named Brooks Hatlen. He played the role of an old prison librarian. He is shown together with his crow companion, Jake. The scene was related to Brook's crow which seems to be of negligible importance however, the team needed to go through some discomfort to capture it.There's one sequence of Brook eating a maggot to Jake that was monitored by the American Humane Society (AHS). AHS was against the idea to use a live maggots and kill the insect while filming the sequence. The society advised that The Shawshank Redemption team use the maggot that was naturally expired to film.
