Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on 19 February 1970, is an American actress and producer. She is best known for her role in Scandal's Melody "Mellie Grant" episode (2012-2018). In 2014, for her performance of Mellie, Young won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting actor in a Drama Series. Young also appeared on the Fox series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young began her acting career in theatre. Her Broadway debut in 1997 as Mary in The Life's original cast. Young also made her Broadway debut as Mary in the initial The Life cast. She guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, in two different roles. In 1999 she made her film debut with a small role in the crime thriller Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films.
