Bernie Taupin

 Bernard John Taupin, CBE (born 22 May 1950), is an English musician, singer, and visual artist. His ongoing collaboration and songwriting partnership with Elton John is his most noteworthy achievement. Taupin has written the lyrics for most of John's songs.In 1967, Taupin answered an advertisement in the newspaper New Musical Express placed by Liberty Records, a company seeking new songwriters. John responded to the same advertisement and the two have collaborated on numerous albums. Taupin and John were admitted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.Taupin was born at Flatters House, a farmhouse situated between the village of Anwick and the town of Sleaford, in the southern part of Lincolnshire, England, the son of Robert Taupin and Daphne, daughter of John Leonard Palchett "Poppy" Cort and who was a Cambridge University-educated classics teacher and former rector of Sale, Greater Manchester (then included as a part of Cheshire.
