Jennifer Kate Hudson (born September 12 in 1981) and also known by her nickname J.Hud she is an American actor, singer and talk show host. Throughout her career she has been awarded numerous accolades for her works in the fields of recorded music, film television, theater, and film. Hudson was the first African-American woman, and also the youngest to receive the four most prestigious American entertainment awards, including Emmy (Grammy), Oscar, Tony (EGOT) and Oscar (Oscar). Hudson also was awarded an award on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013. Time declared her one of the top 100 influential people worldwide in 2020. She rose to fame by being a finalist for American Idol's third season in 2004, where she placed seventh. She made her film debut in the role of Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls (2006) in which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and became the youngest African-American to win in a competitive acting category. Hudson was signed to Arista Records in 2008 and released her debut studio album named "Hunter" and was certified Gold in the US, UK and won the Grammy Award as Best R&B Album.
