William Bradley Pitt, born on December 18, 1963, is an American actor. He has been awarded numerous awards including two Academy Awards and a British Academy Film Award. Two Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. Pitt is an extremely well-known public figure who has been named as one of the most influential and powerful individuals in American entertainment. He was first recognized as a hitchhiker of cowboys in Ridley Scott's road movie Thelma & Louise (1991). His first lead part in big-budget productions came with the drama films A River Runs Through It (1992) and Legends of the Fall (1994) and the film of horror Interview with the Vampire (1994). The actor was critically acclaimed in David Fincher's thriller Seven (1995) as well as the science-fiction film 12 Monkeys (1995). The latter film earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and his first Academy Award nomination.Pitt found greater commercial success in Steven Soderbergh's heist film Ocean's Eleven (2001), and reprised his role in its sequels.
