 Eva de la Caridad Mendez (/'mendez/, Spanish: ['eba de la kari'dad'mendes] born March 5 1974) is professionally known as Eva Mendes, is an American model, actress, and fashion designer. In the late 1990s her acting career started with roles in films like Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (2000) and Urban Legends: Final Cut 2000 (2000). Her performance in Training Day (2001), marked a turning point in the career of Eva Mendes and led to commercially successful roles in 2 Fast 2 Furious ((2003)) and Hitch ((2005). Ghost Rider (2008) and The Spirit (2008) were both adaptations of comics. Then she moved to a more dramatic direction in the form of We Own the Night, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans 2009, Last Night (2010) and The Place Beyond the Pines (2012). Out of Time (2003) and The Women (2008) were her other films. She also starred in The Other Guys (2010) and Girl in Progress (2012).
