Evander Holyfield, born October 19, 1962, was an American professional boxer who fought from 1984 to 2011. The 1980s saw him as an undisputed champion in the cruiserweight division. He also held the title at the heavyweight division during the 1990s. He is often referred to as "the real Deal", Holyfield is the only heavyweight world champion. He held the unification of WBA, WBC, and IBF titles from 1990 to 1992. He then held and the WBA and IBF titles in 1993 to 1994, the WBA title a second time from 1996 until 1999; the IBF title for the third time from 1997 until 1999 and the WBA title for a fourth time between 2000 and 2001.As an amateur, Holyfield represented the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics where he won a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division. He turned professional at 21 years old, moving up to cruiserweight in 1985 before taking his first World title in the year following, beating Dwight Muhammad Qawi for the WBA title.
