George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. (born May 18th, 1952) is an American country music musician and songwriter, actor and music producer. Strait is often referred to as the "King of Country" and is considered one of the most popular and influential music musicians ever recorded at the time.In the 1980s Strait was a well-known and pioneering figure within the neotraditional country movement and was renowned for his straightforward cowboy image and roots-oriented sound in a time when the Nashville music industry was dominated by crossover country acts.Strait's success started when his first hit single "Unwound" was a hit in 1981, indicating the rise of the neotraditional movement. In the 1980s, seven of his albums made it to the top spot on the country charts. Strait received his first Grammy Award for his album Troubadour in 2000. He was also named Artist of the Decade at the Academy of Country Music. Strait was awarded CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989 in 1990, and again in 2013, and ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and 2014. Strait has been nominated for more CMA and ACM awards and has more wins in each category than any other artist.
