Christopher Brian Bridges (born September 11th 1977) is known as Ludacris (/'lu:d@krIs/, homophonous with the word 'ludicrous' in American English) is an American actor, rapper as well as a record executive.Born in Champaign, Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at age nine where he first started rapping. In the latter part of 1990, he started Disturbing tha Peace, and then was signed to Def Jam South. He became one of the first Dirty South rappers with numerous album releases to his credit. Ludacris was awarded three Grammy Awards for his music and also an MTV Video Music Award. After a brief time as DJ, he launched Incognegro, his first independent album, in 1999. The album was greeted with local popularity. The album received national recognition when it was repackaged by major labels as Back for the First Time. It featured the top singles.
