Morgan Freeman

 Morgan Freeman, born June 1, 1937 was an American actor and director. His distinctive voice and many roles across different genres of film make him unique. Through his long career that spans over five decades, he has been awarded numerous awards which include an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Golden Globe Award.Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman was raised in Mississippi in which he first began acting in school plays. He pursued a theatre studies degree in Los Angeles and appeared in stage productions early in his career. He gained fame in the 1970s due to his role on the children's television series The Electric Company. Freeman also appeared in Shakespearean plays Coriolanus and Julius Caesar, the former of which earned him an Obie Award. Street Smart (1987), in which he played hustlers, was his breakout role. He received an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor. His star power increased with Glory (1989) as well as the biographical drama Lean on Me (89).
