Patti LaBelle

 Patricia Louise Holte (born May 24, 1944)best known as Patti LaBelle is an American actor, singer and businesswoman. LaBelle is often referred to as the "Godmother Of Soul". She started her career as the frontwoman and lead singer of the vocal group Patti LaBelle as well as the Bluebelles in the 1960s. Following the group's name change to Labelle in the early 1970s in the 1970s, they released the cult number-one single "Lady Marmalade". In the end, following the split in 1976, LaBelle began a successful solo career, starting with her critically-acclaimed debut album, which included the career-defining song, "You Are My Friend". Following the success of the singles "If You Knew", Love, Need and Want You" as well as "Stir It Up", LaBelle was a huge solo artist. Just two years later, in 1986, LaBelle scored a number-one album called Winner in You and the album's number-one duet single "On My Own", with Michael McDonald.In 1989, Be Yourself led to the classic "If You Asked Me To" (later recorded by Celine Dion). LaBelle was awarded the 1992 Grammy for Best Female R&B.
