Lisa Valerie Kudrow (/'ku:droU/ KOO-droh; born July 30, 1963) is an American actress. Her role in the role of Phoebe Buffay on the American sitcom Friends was her breakthrough on the international scene. The show aired from 1994 through 2004. The show brought her Primetime Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, Satellite and American Comedy awards. Since the time, Phoebe was named one of the most memorable television characters. Phoebe is considered to be Kudrow's first big break, and was the catalyst for her success in the film industry. Kudrow won several awards like the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Comedy Series from 15 nominations as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards (from twelve nominations) and a Golden Globe Award nomination. Kudrow also starred in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion (1997) and then the romantic comedy The Opposite of Sex (2000).
